The Balance Within Every Deed ( Verse on the Duality of Karma ) In every deed that we pursue, Two shadows walk-one dark, one light. No act is born of perfect light, Nor wholly lost in endless night. Good may rise like morning air, Bad may whisper unaware; Yet what we choose to shape and feed Decides the worth of every deed. When good outweighs the darker part, The act becomes a noble art; But when the shadows claim their share, The deed grows heavy with despair. Thus weigh each step, each word, each might- For good faith and virtue lie in choosing right. ★ The Habit and Mistake of the Jiva The jiva dwells where once his birth had been, And thinks that place alone his world has been.
